Solo Orange Experience
In the morning we began the "Solo Experience", it began by having the girls sit in a circle. Each girls was given an orange and not to eat it. We asked them to look at their orange & we gave them 30 seconds to look at the orange. Then we asked them to close their eyes and roll the orange into the middle of the circle. When they opened their eyes we asked them to find their orange. After they got their orange we asked them how they knew it was their orange. One would say, "mine has a blemish on it. , "mine has two indents near the naval", etc. We explained to them that we are all different like the oranges. None of us are perfect and we have blemishes which make us different from each other. Even though we are all different, our Heavenly Father loves each and every one of us. Then we asked them, "How would you feel if someone else got your orange?" We received numerous answers. Then we told them to go with their orange, scriptures, and journals to have their solo experience. We explained that this would begin their fast and that they will break the fast at the dinner meal. (We did not tell them in advance that it was a fast). It was a wonderful experience, the girls we gone for a long time. Some were gone for an hour. It was quite a spiritual experience for them and after the dinner we had a testimony meeting.
