Duct Tape Beach BagAll you need is duct tape and scissors and you can make a beach bag... It's waterproof, too!
You need:
20 Yards Duct Tape
Scissors
Instructions:
Lay a 16" piece of duct tape sticky side up on your work surface. Cut another 16" piece and lay it sticky side up next to the first piece, overlapping about 1/4". Cut additional 16" pieces adding them to your project until you have 8 rows.
Cut a 16" piece of tape and place it right on top of the first row of tape, sticky sides together. Cut 7 more pieces and lay them one by one over the original pieces, completely covering them. When finished, you will have a two sided "sheet" of duct tape.
Make another "sheet" like the first using what ever color combinations you would like. Lining up the two pieces, trim all around to make a neat rectangle.
Join the two "sheets" together by cutting pieces of tape to fold around three sides. We also added a piece around the top back and front for our design.
To make handles, cut two 20" pieces of duct tape. Fold each piece in half lengthwise so the sticky side is inside. Tape the ends securely to the inside of the bag. Cut decorations out pieces and stick to bag.

Instructions:
Wire solder is very easy to bend. Decide the word for your frame and bend it using your fingers and wrapping around pens and markers to get a smooth curve. You can cut the wire into pieces like we did for the word "Mom" or use all one piece like we did for the word "love".
Bend your wire to fit around the frame. Slide on some transparent and silver pony beads. Glue in place using a toothpick and hot glue. Use glue sparingly or it will show around your wire.

You need:
Weaving Loops
Instructions:


1. Wrap the first loop around your pinky. Twist it one half turn and loop it around your ring finger.

2. Twist it another half loop and loop it around your middle finger. Another half twist and then around your index finger.

3. Repeat with the second loop.







4. Stretch out the bottom loop from from your pinky, Lift it over the top loop and stretch it over to the back of your pinky.

5. Do the same with your the loops on the other three fingers. Continue weaving in this manner. The belt will start to form down the back of your hand. Weave a yard or more of loops.

6. If you need to take a break, slide a pencil or pen through the working loops as you remove them from your fingers. To finish slide loops off your fingers and double knot the last row.

Hemp Friendship Bracelet
You Need:--6 Yards #20 Hemp--Misc. Beads--Masking Tape
Instructions:
Preparing your cord:Cut hemp into two 3 yard lengths. Fold both pieces 18" from the end. Gather the folded strands together. You now have two 18" strands and two 7½' strands. Tie all together into a knot 4" from the fold. Secure by taping to table top at fold.You could also use a clipboard or slip loop made by fold around a chair leg. Pull both 18" strands taut and tape down ends. These will become strands 2 & 3 in the diagrams below.
Making the knots:
Cross strand 1 over strands 2 & 3 and under strand 4.
Bring strand 4 under strands 2 & 3, then up through the loop created by strand 1. Tighten.
Cross strand 1 over strands 2 & 3 and under strand 4.
Bring strand 4 under strands 2 & 3, then up through the loop created by strand 1. Tighten.
Adding Beads:Beads can be added at any point on the bracelet. You can string them on one, two or all four strands. On the bracelet shown above, beads where strung only on strands 2 & 3.
Finishing:When you reach the desired length, make a knot to match the other end. Remove tape. Trim ends, leaving enough to tie on wrist. Make a knot on each strand end to keep from fraying, adding a bead if desired.

Here are several ideas that teens can have fun with: 1. Make your own lip gloss. By adding kool-aid powder to Vaseline, you can create several "flavors" of lip gloss. Melt the Vaseline in the microwave. Try it 30 seconds at a time. Add the kool-aid and microwave one more time, again 30 seconds. Mix and then allow to cool. Once it’s cool enough to touch, move the Vaseline into its final storage container and allow to cool completely. 2. Wrapping paper and gift tags. Rubber stamps can create the most magnificent wrapping paper and gift tags. We use both ink pads and also pens on our stamps. The white shiny wrapping paper and gift tags can be bought through a paper supplier. We actually buy small cards and then punch holes in them, for gift tags. With corner punchers you make wonderful borders on the gift cards. We also enjoy making greeting cards with rubber stamps. 3. Candy plants. Start with a pot. Paint or decorate to your liking. Put styrofoam in the bottom of the pot. Now build the plant with an assortment of candy, wire and sticks. You can also add paper flowers. Use hard candies or chocolate kisses to cover the styrofoam. 4. Teens love to create clothing. Sewing fabric onto the bottom of jeans, or the pockets of jeans can create hours of fun. 5. Teens love to scrapbook. My own daughter can sometimes take enough photos in one day for an entire album. They can scrapbook any activity or club they belong to. They can also take photos at sports games and scrapbook those. The ideas for a teen and a scrapbook are endless. 6. Knitting and crocheting. You can find thousands of free patterns on the internet. Teens can make everything from purses, to boxes, to clothing. With string, instead of yarn, you can make bedspreads and desk decorations. With rug yarn, you can create a rug for your bathroom or bedroom. 7. Bulletin boards to hang on the wall. My daughter loves her bulletin boards. Buy a simple wood frame board. The wood can be painted or decorated to the teens liking. Photos or poems or even homework can be put up on the bulletin board once complete.

Make homemade blankets for children in need!

We are looking for volunteers who enjoy making blankets and who love children! Project Linus provides love, warmth, and a sense of security through the gift of homemade blankets to children who are seriously ill, traumatized or otherwise in need. We donate to local hospitals, Guardian ad Litem, and to individuals as the needs arise. We also support children nationwide who are victims of natural disasters, such as Hurricane Katrina. If you cannot make blankets, we also accept donations of materials, or monetary donations, to support those who are able to make the blankets but whose means are limited. The blankets must be homemade of NEW, WASHABLE, CHILD-FRIENDLY material. They can be any size, as we give to infants - 18 years of age. They must be made in non-smoking environments, as the majority of our blankets are given to local hospitals. We accept crocheted, knitted, pieced, quilted, tied, and fleece blankets. Blankets must come from non-smoking environments. Volunteers may be of any age, but blankets must be of good quality (they are given as gifts).
