Macrame Patterns

This area of my site features an assortment of free Macrame patterns. I’ve included step-by-step instructions for creating unique handmade apparel, fashion accessories, and home décor. I will be adding more patterns on a regular basis, so please return often. When you’re ready to begin, click on the name or image of each pattern, and a new page will come up. Here you will find instructions, tips, and photos or drawings of each item featured. Within the instructions you will find a description of each item, the type of cord I recommend, and any special supplies necessary. I’ve also added links to the decorative knots used in the pattern, so you can study the knotting techniques ahead of time, if necessary. Below is the current list of free Macrame patterns for you to use and enjoy. Feel free to print them if you prefer them on paper. Also, if you wish to personalize, change them for your own use as needed. Bracelets, Watches, and Rings Sliding Sport Bracelet This popular type of bracelet features sliding beads that can be used to keep track of sport scores. It is a very easy pattern, suitable for beginners and children. Oysterman Bracelet This project features the Oysterman Button as well as the ever popular Wrapped Knot sliding clasp. You can modify this pattern by using different types of button knots. Button Ring You can use either a fancy button or bead as a feature of this Macrame Ring. I used a shank style button for the purple ring, and a bead for the white one. Watchband Design This basic Micro-Macrame pattern can be used to "recycle" a watch with a worn or broken band. This is an easy project, suitable for a beginner. Buttonhole Watch This pattern is easy to make, but requires a watch face designed for handcrafted jewelry. It features a sliding Wrapped knot Clasp and a Buttonhole design. Macrame Charm Bracelet This simple bracelet pattern uses classic Macrame knots, and can be made with any type of cord. Basic Bracelet A very easy design, suitable for a beginner. The clasp is made with a decorative button. Make it with leather cord or other stiff material to maintain the shape of the knots. Spiral Ankle Bracelet The use of Cord Beads makes this ankle bracelet unique. The pattern is a bit challenging, due to the use of fine cord materials. Bangle Bracelet This Micro-macrame pattern is made with a single knot. It's a project suitable for a beginner, even though it calls for fine cord. Figure Eight Bracelet This Celtic pattern combines a Horizontal Figure 8 Chain with Button knots to produce a unique and appealing bracelet. Western Belt This pretty Macrame design features both Chevrons and Diamonds. It takes a while to make, but the end result is worth the time and effort. Picot Key Ring This pattern can be made with scraps of cord and in several different shapes and sizes. Designer Hangers Choose from a variety of decorative knots to cover metal Hangers for your clothing. This is one of my special "flexible" Macrame Patterns.

Ribbed Dog Collar (Revised March, 2009) Have a pampered Pet? This pattern is practical as well as fashionable. Try making a matching bracelet or belt for yourself. Butterfly Bookmark This very simple design can easily be made by children over age 3. This is a great project to introduce kids to Macrame. Square Knot Belt This easy pattern for kids and beginners is entirely made from one decorative knot. Purple Purse You can make this handbag in any color, although purple looks great! This Macrame Pattern is prefect for teens and beginners. I make several recommendations to help kids create their own special touches. Simple Chain Necklace This necklace is easy to make and suitable for children as well as those new to Macrame. Flower Bracelet This Macrame pattern creates a very delicate, feminine bracelet. Simplicity Bracelet This pattern features the use of 2 novelty buttons. It's an easy pattern, suitable for a beginner or a child.
